30 Oct 2020
As the schools closed their doors for Half Term, St Andrew’s Club was preparing to welcome members from both Junior and Senior Club to our Half Term Programme, which ran from Monday 26th – Friday 30th October.
Following months of restrictions and uncertainties since the COVID-19 induced lockdown, our first 6-weeks of the Autumn term back were extremely well attended and we knew from our survey to parents how important it was to continue our services over half term. We were thrilled that every session throughout the week was fully-booked. The atmosphere at the Club was buzzing and spirits were high as members got involved with the Club’s varied sessions.
With huge thanks for funding from the National Lottery, via Young Westminster Foundation, sessions involved zorbing (taking social distancing to a new extreme!), arts and crafts, Deal or No Deal, slime making and pumpkin carving – capturing the true Halloween spirit – alongside other general Club activities. The week ended on a high, with a Halloween-themed movie session.
Here are some parent comments:
“Thanks so much for everything you’ve done for the girls this week, they loved it and had a fab time.”
“Thank you [name] has really had the best time at Club this week!”
“Thank you for letting [name] sign up for this week. She absolutely loved it!”
We would like to give special thanks to Quo Vadis Soho for providing nearly 400 wholesome meals to St Andrew's Club members all week, delivered to our door. Not only have we been able to feed each of the 45-60 members who have been attending daily this week, but we've also provided them to any one in need living locally, including those with children on Free School Meals.
