St Andrew’s 10k took place on Saturday 5 September with around 90+ participants (young, old, and even on four legs!) either walking, running or cycling 10k for the Club.
Roughly 50 participants completed the 10k in London, in socially distanced groups, using last year’s route – starting and finishing at the Club. Sarah, Youth Club Manager, led the way whilst Adrian, Deputy Manager, held the fort at the Club and prepared a barbeque for hungry returnees. Chris, Trustee of the Club and former member, was joined by a group of fitness fanatics who not only ran the entire 10k, but also added 250 burpees to make for an intense workout!
Other participants completed their own route in their local area, which included Kent, the Yorkshire Dales, Windsor, Norfolk, Dublin and even India! Despite being miles apart, the community spirit was strong, with walkers sporting an item of blue to represent the Club and keeping in touch by sending in their wonderful photos, videos and routes.
We are so touched by the effort our lovely supporters have made in recognition of the Club. Thank you to everyone who participated in the 10k and raised or donated money towards the St Andrew’s 10k fundraising pageSt Andrew’s 10k fundraising page. We are halfway to our fundraising target of £5,000. These funds mean St Andrew's can continue to provide experiences and opportunities for local young people. Times are hard for youth clubs - and young people - all donations are greatly welcomed. If you are able to help us to reach our target, please donate here.
Thank you so much to all those who took part, both near and far. We hope to see you all next year, fingers crossed we can all take part together in 2021.
Keep your eyes peeled for more virtual events from St Andrew’s Club over the next few months.
Forsters, our fantastic charity partner, rallied their troops and took part in the 10k to support the Club - thank you Forsters!
