St Andrew’s has just had a fantastic Summer Project. Young people at the Club enjoyed four weeks of fun and educational activities to keep them active and happy all Summer. Spending time with friends and creating lasting memories. The Summer Projects assist in prevention and diversion by keeping young people active, positive, and motivated throughout the summer.
Young people learnt practical skills over the Summer. Learning how to make their own battery-powered fans got to explore their creativity by decorating their own bags and t-shirts. Children also had their mental and physical health supported enjoying a relaxing spa day at the Club and taking part in hair care and well-being classes. Young people at the Club also took part in a variety of exciting sporting activities keeping them healthy and active all Summer.
There was a range of incredible trips for young people at the Club to enjoy. Including an exciting day out of laser tag. There were also days out on board the floating classroom where young people got to learn about nature while exploring London’s waterways by boat. Finally, young people got to go on an exciting trip to Thorpe Park having an amazing time on the bumper cars, waterslides and rollercoasters.
These are just some of the highlights from an incredible four weeks at St Andrew’s. The Club provided young people with an amazing summer of experiences and opportunities that they might have been deprived of without the Club. This is especially relevant now during times of financial uncertainty. A massive thank you to the Westminster City Council whose HAF fund supports all of St Andrew’s holiday programmes. It was so great seeing so many happy young people enjoy being at the Club this Summer we look forward to doing it all again next year.
