Wednesday 3 July was the annual networking event for the St Andrew's Club Westminster 100 Club members - a number of ambitious local companies who have pledged their support to the Club to raise a minimum of £500 each year to help disadvantaged young people in our community.
Members of the local business community were invited to the Club to hear John Amaechi OBE - an organisational psychologist, Chartered Scientist, New York Times best-selling author and CEO of APS, a leadership consultancy working in Europe and the United States - speak on the topic of ‘How to encourage diversity in the workplace’. John spoke about inspiring organisations to become beacons of best practice in diversity and inclusion, beyond achieving basic diversity quotas, ultimately helping organisations to become an employer of choice. Thanks to Neil Tomalin, Managing Partner of Saintclair Partnership for preparing this summary. Following John’s talk, guests heard from Michael, a current member at St Andrew’s and Chemical Engineering graduate who recently completed work experience at an engineering company, thanks to opportunities provided by St Andrew’s. The evening finished with tours of the Club by the team of youth workers and a chance for guests to network with like-minded Westminster businesses, whilst refreshments were served by Club members.
The Westminster 100 Club is a fantastic way for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to the local community whilst benefiting their business, and uniting their team. To be sure of your invitation to the next 100 Club networking event with a top business speaker, sign up today to the Westminster 100 community by contacting Annette, Chief Executive at Annette@standrewsclub.com.
